Our Care Services

From everyday support to specialist care, our services are designed around each individual, helping them live with choice, dignity, purpose and wellbeing.

Residential Care

Residential Care is for those who have the potential to live their life to the fullest, remaining as independent as possible, but with the comfort of our assistance available as and when it’s needed. We’re here with our wellness philosophy to facilitate residents to achieve personal goals, take up new hobbies, nurture relationships and, most importantly, feel safe whilst doing so.

Dementia Care

No two people experience dementia in the same way, which is why our care is shaped around the individual. We take time to understand who each person is, supporting their needs while protecting their dignity, independence and sense of self. Our approach is informed by current research and training, creating a safe and supportive environment where people can continue to live with purpose and joy. We’re here for families too, offering understanding and support throughout the journey.

Respite Care

Respite Care is for those who just need a short stay. For example, an interim solution may be needed for recovery from an injury or operation, disruptive work going on at home, or while family are away. It’s a great way to experience a change of scenery and a gentle introduction into care, just in case there is a need for more support in the future.

Palliative Care

Our end of life care is centred around comfort, dignity and what matters most to each person. We work closely with individuals, their families and healthcare professionals to provide sensitive, personalised care that considers physical, emotional and spiritual needs, including pain and symptom management. It is a privilege to care for someone at this stage of their life, and our team is there around the clock to offer reassurance, respect personal wishes and take care of the details, allowing families and friends to focus on simply being together.

FAQs

Finding the right care home can feel overwhelming. As a small, family-run provider, Salveo Care offers personal support to help you understand care types, funding and the transition process. We hope our FAQs help, but please contact our team for personalised guidance.

From enquiring to moving in

  • What are the first steps?

If you contact us, we will ask you a few simple questions over the phone and answer any of your queries before inviting you to visit us. We hope to give you enough information during your visit to allow you to make a decision that’s right for you and your family.

  • If we want to move forward with an admission, what’s the next step?

We always assess residents before admission to ensure that we offer the appropriate level of care and facilities for a person’s individual needs. The assessment can take place wherever the resident is staying and at a time that is convenient for you.

  • How quickly can a resident move into the home?

It varies from a few days to a few weeks, depending on our availability, whether we have the appropriate provisions in place to care for the resident’s individual needs and, of course, your own preference. However, if you are hoping to move into our home urgently, please let us know and we will do our best to support a quick and safe admission.

  • Is there a trial period?

Your residence in the home for the first four weeks is on a trial basis, so that if during, or at the end of the period, either you or the home’s management regard the arrangement as unsatisfactory for the long term, the agreement may be terminated with reasonable notice from either side.

  • Can we bring our own furniture?

Our bedrooms are fully furnished but you are welcome to bring in personal belongings to make it feel like home.

Costs

  • What is included in the fees?

Accommodation, hospitality and care are all included in your fees, as well as use of all our facilities and other services, such as laundry and activities.

  • When do fees increase?

Fees are normally reviewed annually but we reserve the right to review them more frequently if economic conditions change, or if a resident opts to change their room. An increase in the dependency level of the resident may also result in fee reviews, but we will always provide plenty of notice before making any changes.

  • What happens if our funds run out?

It is important that, in the event of your funds being reduced to a level whereby you qualify for local authority funding support, you tell us so that we can arrange for a reassessment of means to pay your charges. In the event of you qualifying for local authority funding support, we will review your terms and conditions.

  • What extras are not included in the fees?

If you have a specific service in mind, please don’t hesitate to ask, but common additional services include the following: newspaper subscriptions, hairdressing, professional dry cleaning, transport, alternative therapies, private telephone installation, call charges, audio and visual installation and servicing (beyond the Freeview TV provided by us).

Care and Services

  • What services do you provide?

Visit our care page to find out more information on the services we provide.

  • Do you specialise in dementia?

Cherry Tree House is not a specialised dementia care home but may be able to help those in the early or late stages of dementia, depending on how it presents itself in the individual. Our new home, Wendover Manor, which is opening soon, will provide specialist care and support for individuals living with dementia. Our experienced team will be equipped to support residents across the different stages of dementia, with each individual’s needs and circumstances assessed as part of the admission process. We recognise that dementia affects everyone differently, and we will work closely with individuals, their families and relevant professionals to ensure that Wendover Manor is able to meet their care and support needs safely and appropriately. Where an individual presents with behaviours that may pose significant risks to themselves, other residents or staff, we will assess their needs on an individual basis and determine whether we can safely provide the appropriate level of support.

  • Can you accommodate specific or special dietary requirements?

Our chefs and care staff are trained to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements to meet individual needs and preferences. For example, we cater for allergies, intolerances, and different levels of dysphasia, ensuring our residents are able to enjoy a diverse, tasty and nutritional diet.

  • Do bedrooms have their own TV?

Yes, every bedroom at Cherry Tree House has a 32-inch TV with Freeview installed. Sky and other similar services can be installed at an additional cost.

  • Can I continue to attend social events or religious services if I move into a care home?

We actively encourage our residents to continue doing what they enjoy, regardless of where they are living. With the input of family and friends, we will support residents to attend social events within the local community, religious services, or gatherings.

  • Do you have specific visiting times?

We have an open visiting policy which allows you to visit at any time, as long as it suits the resident. We also kindly ask you to respect the other residents living in the home during your visit.

  • Can we take our loved one out for the day?

Yes! We encourage our residents to go out in the community with family and friends.
